On the issue of the establishment of the state award system of the People's Republic of China

Abstract. The history of state awards of the PRC dates back to the 30s of the 20th century. During the Japanese Resistance War and the Civil War with the Kuomintang, the main forms of promotion were orders and medals for military merit. Following the changes in the modern history of the PRC, both the award system and its legal basis have been transformed. The modern system of state awards of the People's Republic of China has developed already in our days after the coming to power of the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jingping. At the present stage of China's socio-economic development, improving `public` administration, improving the quality of the work of the CCP and state apparatus, building a modern army required the creation of a science-based, socially-oriented, legitimate mechanism for the award system.
