Martial arts as a conductor of Eastern spiritual teachings and practices in modern Russia
Abstract. The work is written on the basis of materials that the author began to collect for his dissertation, as well as surveys and interviews conducted spe-cifically for the article. The purpose of the work was to consider the influence of martial arts on religious views and on the development of human spirituality. The sources of the article were the au-thor's interviews with martial artists, their person-al data and personal pages on social networks on the Internet. The `author` also used a questionnaire containing 10 questions. Geography of survey and interview participants: Kazan, Moscow, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. We interviewed 12 martial artists who are leaders of schools, federations and organiza-tions with tens and hundreds of students. Based on the analysis of the responses, the `author` made cer-tain conclusions about the impact of martial arts on interest in spiritual practices and religious teachings of the East, while also noting the positive impact of martial arts on loyalty to traditional Russian religions.
